Many people have questions about Muslim women, and never asked a question because they were afraid of ridicule. The females of this religion have many restrictions and rights, which are illustrated below. Here are a couple of things you might have wondered about and never got an answer to.

Many communities and areas can be found that do not adhere to the rights and practices, much like seen in so many other religions. Britain gave these females rights to own property in 1860. This was put into Islamic law as well.

When she is engaged, she will get many gifts from her man but is not allowed to give him one. When they get married, he will then give her money as a gift that she can save or use any way she wants. In most Muslim countries, she can use her unmarried name, and can even have her own identity away from her husband.


The dress of these females varies based on their faith and interpretation of said faith. Some very devout women will be completely covered, and this is not due to their husband telling them that they must. The Quran states Hijab is a necessity so that she is revered for her intellect and not her physical attributes.

She can only use birth control or coitus interruptus if two ideas are agreed upon: if she cannot carry a child due to illness, or if her husband wants this completed. This is due to the fact that both are seen as having the right to have a child. She may also leave her home at any time, as long as her husband knows where she is going in case of trouble.

Muslim women have had numerous responsibilities and are given many rights, much like other religions. The more she sticks to the Quran; people may believe she is restricted in her rights.
